I was diagnosed with advanced peritonitis and significant bone loss around some of my teeth. Two teeth needed to be extracted and at least one, possibly two needed a bone graft. I was not ready to give my teeth yet, so I went searching for another opinion - one that was in keeping with my belief that our bodies are designed to heal and regenerate themselves. I have seen a total of six dentists now, hoping to find a genuine healer, not just a mechanic who wants to take out a broken part and replace it.
If I had known the extent of the disease when I first saw the dentist, I never would have tried to heal myself. It was just too advanced, too overwhelming to consider that it could be reversed without dental intervention. If I had gone the dental route, the 2 extractions, the 2 bone grafts, and 4 gum surgeries (one for each quadrant) to cut the gums down to the level of the lowest pockets, would have been a temporary solution. Since they weren't eliminating the cause, the problem was sure to resurface a few years later. And then there would not be any remaining gum tissue to cut back to "resolve" the problem. My search for natural therapies continued, but in the meantime, one tooth on my left side was getting looser, and one tooth on my lower right side was losing more of its supporting bone structure, making it almost impossible to chew on either side.
A friend of mine mentioned Robyn Welch. In my first appointment with her, she started by getting rid of the underlying gum infection, which several courses of antibiotic therapy during the previous year were unable to do. I knew the infection was finally gone when there was no subtle irritation above or below the gumlines near the compromised teeth.
