A Miracle Happened In Front Of My Eyes.

Back in June of this year, the most awful thing that any owner of an animal could experience happened, my Cat that I have had since she was 6 weeks old was sitting in my drive sunning her self like she always used to do after her breakfast.

We moved her away from the back of the car, put her onto the doorstep, while walking back to the driver’s door my partner had not realised that she had moved off the doorstep and walked round under the front wheel of the car, lying under the car. My partner started the car up and started to reverse and yes the accident happened, he felt a slight bump, he was travelling luckily about 3-4 miles per hour if, but the cat’s pelvis was under the wheel.

I cannot tell you how he felt, all I know he went white, and I felt sick and shocked. After all, this cat is 17 years old, which I believe is 117 years old in cat’s years.

We took her straight to the vet’s, and they told me to leave her there and they would phone me later in the day, they x-rayed her and told me that she had a broken pelvis, that would not be easy to operate on because of her age, but they wanted her to see another vet who has a special interest in bone.

They kept telling me that she was not passing urine and she could not pass a stool because her pelvis being twisted, and it was too painful for her, but they did not have a cat litter tray in sight, so the cat would not just lie in urine, so they told me it would not make any difference, but I had my doubts about that. Also, they told me that her potassium was low and I told them to put the potassium in her drip, if that was what was making her weak try anything.

The next day they got me down to the vet for a good couple of hours trying to get me to have my cat put to sleep, they were trying to tell me it was for the best to let her go as her quality of life was not good, and she was in pain. I agreed at one point and all of a sudden the rain poured from the sky and it went very dark, and I knew it was a sign, that I made the wrong decision and I then told the vet that I changed my mind. He said that I proved him wrong about the potassium and she gained strength, I knew in my heart of hearts that I made the wrong decision and all of a sudden the sun came out. I told the vet I wanted to let her carry on for one more night and I would make a decision tomorrow. I spoke to the cat and asked her for a sign and she licked my face, that was good enough for me to carry on. I told the vet I wanted to ring a lady that I knew, who I knew could help me with my cat, but he more or less begged me not to make the phone call. As if I was going to take any notice of that!

I telephoned Robyn, but she was out so I left a message. Goodness knows how I must have sounded because Robyn phoned me back at home, and I knew then we would have a turnaround. Robyn linked into my cat, she was not at home but I had a photograph of her and Robyn worked from that.

The next morning the vet telephoned me and told me my cat could come home, she had spent a penny and passed a bowel motion. And she was more alert. What happened to this cat that was meant to be put to sleep less than 48 hours ago?

My cat can now run around, yes, her bad leg on the side that her hip was hurt still drags slightly, not a lot Roger Bannister has not nothing on this is 117 years old not a 20 year old student, and now can run up and down stairs, eats properly and goes to the toilet and this is all thanks to Robyn.

She still has her kitten ways, is putting on weight again and leading a normal life that any cat her age would be leading.

Robyn to me is the most wonderful, understanding person, and gifted lady of this time. Robyn is a ray of hope and light in such a doom and gloom world. Thank you Robyn from the bottom of my heart, an thank you from Megan the Cat too.
