The West Australian Today July 22nd 2002 Alternatives - Keith McDonald Healer see the light.
Robyn Welch claims that her intuitive powers cured her of a tumour and brain damage, and says we all have similar gifts. She talks to OLGA de MOEUER
Intuitive healer Robyn Welch believes she is living proof that her unconventional brand of medicine works. Diagnosed with a Uterine tumour more than 20 years ago, she defied surgery through sheer force of will - and a laser sharp ray of divine white light.
In her book Conversations with the Body (Hodder and Stoughton $29.95), the former Australian horse trainer and fashion designer recounts her thoughts on hearing the news of her diagnosis.
"What if I die? What if I don't live to see my children grow up? " she writes. "When pessimistic thoughts came in, I desperately tried to them aside. I could not let them get the better of me.
"Suddenly, some powerful force in my instinctual being seemed to take over and brushed the negativity from my mind. My thoughts became strongly positive, giving me directions to heal the tumour.
"How I got this information I do not fully know to this day. It wasn't a visual image or a voice in my head. I simply knew that I should bring white light into my third eye region near the centre of my forehead, then direct it as a ray through my body where the tumour was located to zap it. "
Welch claims scheduled surgery was cancelled when doctors found they had nothing to operate on.
Two years later, she summoned her powers again to recover from a car accident in Sydney which left her which Brain damage, a broken arm, almost severed foot and a fractured spine.
In a telephone interview from London, where she lives, Welch said she would not be able to heal people today if weren't for her own misfortune. It enriched her spirit and gave her the ability to develop her Psychic powers.
Along the way there were Clairvoyant episodes, communications with the dead; visits to ashrams, treacherous business partners in the Philippines and a divorce from a husband who drank too much.
In 1993 with her fortunes waning, she packed up and brought a ticket to Hawaii. There, she discovered she could diagnosis and cure other peoples illnesses without laying a finger on them when she intuitively stretched an old woman's blocked bile ducts.
Healing sessions on tumours, broken bones, heart conditions, Thyroid disorders and Migraines followed in between giving riding lessons to make ends meet and sewing a range of woman's underwear in an unsuccessful bid to break into the lucrative US fashion market.
Today Welch says she can afford to be selective in who she treats because she is so busy and has virtually given private consultations for workshops which teach people to heal themselves.
"I can actually programme people to run the white light through themselves ", she said " In one of my workshops a lady, who has been into various forms of healing for 5 years, operated on the back of her own neck. She was stunned but she did not know what to do with a bit of gristle left behind".
Welch claims she works on the bodies energy field; where she first clears negative thoughts and feelings the cause of most disease before tacking the blood, cell, glands, organs and bones.
Talking to body parts literally and thanking them for their good work plays a bit part in healing and is something she believes we all should do every night for good health and well being.
"Pituitary Gland is full of personality", she said " I just go into that gland and chat away. It takes on the personality of the person up to the age of seven, so if they were very shy or scared that Pituitary Gland may never be fully developed and running to capacity. So I strengthen it and people actually get more confidence".
While the science is vague, Welch does cite research into the bodies electrical activity and human energy fields to give substance to some of her claims.
The book is full of testimonials from grateful patients, but Welch bristles when asked for there full name and contact details before sending details of patients willing to support her. They come from around the world, including US Lawyer Rayburn Dudenbostel, who says he is the man referred to as Edward in the book. Diagnosed by Neurosurgeons with a potently life threatening sub arachnoid haemorrhage, which had left a pool of blood around the brain stem, he approached Welch when doctors could do little to help his lack of concentration and short term memory loss.
"Since the series of healing with Robyn, I have not experienced the frequency and severity of problems that I had before doing so ", he writes in an Email. " I am much more mentally alert and my memory has improved greatly".
British Osteopath Tracey Lomax claims Welch cured her bout of Epilepsy with several healing sessions after she was diagnosed with a lump on the Pituitary Gland " Robyn gave me 3 one-to-one sessions, with the rest on the phone ", she writes. " She told me I had had some Lung poisoning when I was very small and my Neurology needed rewiring ".
" I went into Cold Turkey began having severe headaches, Nose bleeds and discharge from my Ears as the healing began ". Since these side effects have subsided I have not had any Epileptic Fits and I am completely well
