She’s not based in Birmingham, but we reckon this lady’s unique brand of healing deserves a mention as she may just as well be a local! Robyn Elizabeth Welch is a diagnostic medical intuitive healer – and has helped thousands of people worldwide to recover their health, hope and vitality. Ruth Graham investigates.
I wasn’t sure what to expect from Robyn. Reading her book ‘Conversations with the Body’, she comes across as a no-nonsense Australian, but her method of healing is so futuristic, it’s hard to comprehend, let alone accept. Claiming to be able to not only see into the body, but to converse with the body parts as well, it initially takes some suspension of belief.
Talking to the pancreas? Chatting with the pituitary – surely not? However, Robyn’s used to the scepticism. "When people are cynical about me, they have two choices," she says. "They can sneer and turn away, or they can stay positive and give it a whirl. I’ve treated literally thousands of people worldwide, and have a success rate of about 95%. That should speak for itself."
Robyn discovered her gift in 1987 when she was giving readings at a psychic’s fair in Sydney. "I became aware by the second day that I was able to literally see into people," she says, "and people were amazed I was able to tell them about longstanding ailments I just couldn’t have known about."
Robyn spent the next seven years developing this gift, until it reached such a stage that she was able to tune into their energy fields and work on them directly. She approaches her work over several sessions – it’s not an instant cure, but by working in harmony with the patient and the organs she can encourage them to work alongside each other, heal and stay healthy. "I do it initially by investigating the patient’s energies," says Robyn. " I look into their energy field and generally see it’s quite ‘snowy’ – a bit like interference in a television screen." Bit by bit Robyn clears this and then goes ‘into’ the body to take a look around. Meanwhile all the patient has to do is lie back on the bed with the phone to their ear and relax.
It was at this stage during my own treatment that several things definitely changed. As Robyn went into my body, the energy down the phone line distinctly changed. It was as if someone had set off an electric current as it crackled (painlessly) down the line. Robyn then observed several things, remarking on the dire state of my kidneys, spleen and several other body parts.
She also mentioned several things that she just couldn’t have known. How, for example, would she have known I’d had a severe blow to the head recently? Having fallen down the stairs about eight weeks ago, I’d hit my head on the right hand side so hard I saw stars. Robyn picked up on this and commented I still had a bleeding blood vessel – which she promptly sealed! She spotted several more personal things, by which time I was feeling distinctly impressed, not to mention relaxed. Forty minutes and lots of talking to body parts later, the session finished and Robyn said goodbye, leaving me ready to drop into a deep sleep.
Since that initial session I’ve had several more treatments and now feel completely energised as well as noticing a distinct improvement in my back and neck. However, Robyn’s also able to help much more serious problems than mine. "It’s true," says Robyn, "in my time I’ve re-aligned body parts, boosted flagging organs, grafted bone and removed cancers." Robyn’s one regret is that people generally come to her as a last resort, rather than the first. "The way we treat our bodies in the West is terrible," she says. "We invade them surgically, hack parts out and limbs off. We fill out bodies with rubbish, ignore the great work they do for us, and wonder why we get sick. My way is definitely the way of healing for the future."
To this end, Robyn is establishing training courses to pass on her method to those who genuinely want to learn and help others. "It’s not for the selfish," Robyn says, "as it requires a huge amount of dedication and sacrifice to do this. However," she adds with a big grin, "there’s nothing more rewarding than putting another perfect body on the planet, all it takes then is for people to stay positive and their symptoms won’t return!"
